The ISKCON temple made it clear that it would celebrate the festival only on Saturday.
"Vaishnavs and Shaivyas have always celebrated the festival on different days. That's why the confusion usually arises. Lord Krishna was born at midnight. Vaishnavs celebrate it the day after Vasudeva ji took him away to Gokul while the Shaivyas celebrate it a day before," said a representative of the ISKCON temple at East of Kailash.
